Seminar on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Cities in Warsaw
The Programme Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change in Poland organized on the 16th-17th of November 2022 the Seminar on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Cities. The event was held in Warsaw (Poland), combining a "live" in-person event with a "virtual" online component, where the representative of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic acting as a Programme Operator of the SK-Climate Programme was also invited.
On the seminar participated Programme Operators of the environment, energy, climate change and low-carbon economy from countries receiving EEA and Norway grants, including experts from Donor countries from Norway, Island and Lichtenstein, Project Promoters of climate change projects and experts from Poland.
As part of the program titled as "Financing urban climate policy from EEA and Norwegian funds", presentations were made by representatives of Portugal, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The SK-Climate Programme was represented by Mr. Denis Knotka, representative of the Slovak Programme Operator, who presented the SK-Climate Programme, the achieved goals and the current implementation status of the SK-Climate programme. During his speech, he has particularly highlighted the Cities and Schools projects results in Slovakia.
The event was focused on urban climate policy, where the representatives of other countries - funded by EEA and Norway grants - had the opportunity to share their very thought-provoking thoughts on the topic of climate change adaptation and mitigation in their countries.
