Let's celebrate Earth Day every day
For the first time, Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970 in San Francisco at the initiative of activists and ecologists in the spirit of integrating ecology into politics. Today, Earth Day is an international holiday, with events taking place worldwide to highlight the deteriorating state of the environment and to promote ecological behavior.
This year, on this occasion, the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with departmental organizations, organizes events, including lectures and competitions.

Earth Day draws attention to the effects of environmental destruction. It motivates people to think and find a solution, e.g. also in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Earth Day is celebrated by millions of people around the world who care about our planet Earth and who want to contribute to its preservation for the next generation through their actions and administration, in the spirit of old Indian wisdom: "We did not inherit our planet from our fathers, we borrowed it from our children."
Even a small step for each of us can do a great thing. And it needs to start today. Therefore, let us not forget that every day can be the day of the Earth.
