Climate change and biodiversity loss are linked
Biodiversity and ecosystem services help us to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change. Regarding the occasion of International World Bee Day (May 20) and International Biodiversity Day (May 22), let us remind the importance of measures and activities aimed to protecting biodiversity, which are also implemented within the SK-Climate Programme.
Activities of the projects which are implemented under the Calls addressed to the municipalities and schools are transforming the school gardens or city parks into a natural refuge for biodiversity. As a result of these aim lakes, ponds, insect houses, small "beekeeping" are being established, green roofs and facades of buildings are being revived, hedges are being created, etc.
The project activities in the field of climate change and reduced vulnerability to climate change are closely related to the protection of biodiversity and are an extremely important part of our efforts to combat climate change.
It is better to cooperate with nature than to struggle - it brings several benefits for the preservation of our climate. That is why our joint steps are crucial right now...
